A lot of people approach asking about the different ways to ingest CBD. It’s important to find the method that works best with your body because it’ll give you the best results. Specifically, I get a lot of questions about smoking CBD oil.
There is a little bit of a misconception here. The only way to smoke CBD is by smoking the actual hemp plant, or CBD-rich marijuana strains. There are several other ways to “smoke” the oil, but it won’t produce smoke at all. The CBD will produce vapor, so you’re actually vaping CBD which is better for you than smoking it. Vaping is something most people know little about, so to limit the confusion I will still use the term smoking. At the end of this article, I will explain the difference between smoking and vaping.
Benefits of Smoking
There are several different ways to ingest CBD by inhalation, one of which is actually smoking. Inhaling CBD has some awesome benefits over other methods. One of the best benefits is the onset time. When smoking your CBD, it only takes a couple minutes to start feeling the effects of this beautiful flower. It’s a great way to get pain relief nearly instantly, which is perfect for the morning. When I wake up in excruciating pain, which is like everyday, I know I can be out of pain in just a few minutes. If I were to eat an edible or take a capsule, it would take nearly an hour to kick in.
4 Ways To Smoke CBD
The most potent way of smoking CBD oil is through dabbing. A dab is a wax concentrate that is extracted from the hemp plant. It can be upwards of 70% CBD by vol. That means one gram of dab can have 750mg of CBD. That’s some potent stuff.
To use a dab, you’ll need a dab rig or a portable dab pen. Rigs are more of a stationary item. They come in portable varieties, but the stationary oil rigs are the best. You can use it in the morning while getting ready for your day, or when you get home from work. The cool part it, you’ll only need to take one puff to get a full dose. If you need a bigger dose, use a bigger dab and you’ll still only need one puff. With the portable wax pens, you’ll smoke them like you would any other vape device. Take as many puffs as you need to feel the effects.
2) CBD Vape Juice
There are a few online stores that sell CBD vape juice. It’s not as common as dabs or cartridges because most people aren’t vapers. Using vape juice will require you to buy a vape pen or mod equipped with a refillable tank. These devices aren’t that expensive. You can get a good one for under $50 and a really good one for under $100. But you will have to do a little maintenance.
If you’ve never used a vape pen or mod before, this is probably not the best method of inhaling CBD. Depending on the device you buy, the maintenance can become more like a job. Some of the tanks leak and you will have to change the coil head every couple of weeks. Changing the coil head can get messy. But if you’re already a vaper and are used to maintaining these devices, then vaping CBD juice can be an awesome way to ingest CBD.
CBD vape juices are usually flavored with all kinds of different flavorings. This can add a lot more enjoyment into the mix. I enjoy the natural flavor of cannabis, but if you don’t these flavorings can be a huge bonus. If you don’t mind maintaining a vape tank and don’t like the natural flavor of cannabis, then this method of administration will be ideal for you.
3) Rolling A Joint
If you really want to smoke, you can do so by classically rolling a joint. You can do this in several different ways. You can smoke a marijuana joint that’s high in CBD. These high-CBD strains will give off a nice even keel high. You won’t be overly high and will get a nice dose of CBD. Researches have suggested that CBD can combat the psychoactive effects of THC. The hard part about this method is getting your hands on the bud. If you live in a recreational or medical marijuana state, this will be relatively easy. But if you don’t, you’ll have to risk your so-called liberty to self-medicate.
You also can roll a hemp joint. A hemp joint will have trace levels of THC but not enough to get you high. They’re loaded with CBD but can also be hard to find. They’re kind of like a unicorn. I’ve heard about them and seen them on the internet, but have never seen a real one in person. Other countries sell these in supermarkets, but we’ve yet to join that train. If you can find a hemp joint, it is a surefire way to smoke some CBD.
Lastly, you can add CBD wax or dab to your joint. Roll your joint like usual, but put some little wax balls throughout the joint. Don’t put them at the tip where you will be lighting the joint. You don’t want them to come into direct contact with the fire. They’re vaporize immediately and your CBD will dissipate into thin air. Put them back just a little bit. These wax balls will turn your classic joint into a high-CBD joint, lessening the psychoactive effects.
4) CBD Vape Cartridges
CBD vape cartridges are probably the most convenient way to smoke CBD oil. It takes very little maintenance because all you have to do is keep your battery charged. You don’t have to worry about refilling anything or cleaning up a mess. These things never leak like vape tanks do.
These vape cartridges are ultra convenient because they’re super portable, almost no maintenance, and are the easiest devices to use. To use it, you just screw the batter and the cartridge full of CBD oil together. After that, you just put it to your mouth and take a puff. That’s it. No buttons to press, no refilling, no fire involved, no rolling a joint, or anything else that other methods of smoking CBD oil require. If you can’t tell, this is my favorite way to inhale CBD.
